World Trade Organization’s webinars on cyber-security

World Trade Organization’s webinars on cyber-security

  • October 8 – 9, 2020

International trade increasingly relies on cross-border data flows. Digital transformation has also made companies more reliant on the collection and use of information that data-driven technologies make available. This increasing reliance on data also exposes international trade to cyber-security risks, which can undermine online trust necessary to trade. The WTO Economics Research and Statistics Division would like to invite you to two webinars to explore these connections between cyber-security and international trade.

The first webinar discusses the trade implications of the different types of cyber-security risks and of national cyber-security policies introduced to address these risks. It will also discuss ICT product regulation and standards development for cyber-security as well as international regulatory cooperation to foster interoperability. The second webinar presents bilateral and regional cyber-security cooperation schemes, including law enforcement cooperation, to guarantee cyber-security in a globalized trading system.

Registration to the webinar on October 8th is open here

Registration to the webinar on October 9th is open here

The recording of these webinars and the presentation of speakers will be made available on the WTO Trade Dialogue Lecture/Webinar Series webpage here.
