The Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) through support from the Regional Center of Promotion for MSME (CENPROMYPE) and funds from the US State Department, had launched a project in Belize entitled the “Female Entrepreneurship Program” (FEP).
The first of its kind program for Belize was designed exclusively for women with the goal of improving and strengthening their leadership and business skills.
The FEP was developed to promote entrepreneurship education and training by:
- Transferring tools and practical instruments to implement innovative processes that can increase market penetration and sales.
- Facilitating access to entrepreneurial training opportunities with a gender focus, and
- Strengthening the leadership, self-esteem, autonomy, and economic empowerment of women.
As a part of the Program, a SHEMentors Networking Event was hosted in May 2019 to create a unique platform for the creation of the Belize Female Mentorship Network. SHEMentors serves as a unique space that stimulates dialogue for women in business. It is created for entrepreneurs, executives, leaders, and business support stakeholders to converge, share ideas, network, and pairing for mentorship, and to celebrate the successes of women in business.
The hallmark of this program is the creation of the SHEMentors website which will be launched March 31, 2021 at 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. via zoom. This platform allows for the continuation of the Belize Female Mentorship Network which focuses on the success, challenges and experience of female entrepreneurs in Belize, and by extension the region. The website can be accessed via http://femaleentrepreneurs.bz/ .
With that said, we invite you to be a part of the Female Entrepreneurship Website Launch on March 31, 2021 at 10 a.m. under the theme “#ChooseToChallenge”.
Kindly confirm your participation by March 26, 2021 at 4:30pm.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Tasha Almendarez, Training & Development Officer at 223-3195 or tasha@belizeinvest.org.bz .
