Invitation to FREE Climate Resilience Training Program for the Construction Industry
- August 3 – 13, 2021
The BCCI is delighted to extend an invitation to your organization to participate in a training opportunity in Climate Resilience in the Construction Sector. The BCCI and IDB Lab are currently executing the Project Proadapt Belize- Increasing Climate Resilience and other Business Opportunities. As a background, this Project is focused on increasing resilience in the construction sector. To this end, a curriculum for Climate Resilient Construction was developed for supervisory personnel and service providers (i.e., project site engineers, contractors, foremen, tradespersons) in the construction sector.
Two programs were developed, a Train the Trainer and a Service Provider Climate Resilient Training Program for the Construction Industry. The Train the Trainer program is targeted at companies who desire to build business and technical capacities among their personnel to install and provide enhanced services to interested firms and households. After the trainee completes the Train the Trainers program, they will be equipped to train other staff (as service providers) in climate-resilient construction, thus transferring knowledge and skills to their team and the future construction crew. The Service Provider program will introduce and reinforce the fundamentals of climate change and construction technologies to build the capacities of participants (i.e. construction crew members). Both groups of trainees will strengthen the human resources in the construction sector, allowing for better promotion of climate-resilient advising, planning and building. In addition, stakeholders will be better informed of recent technologies in both mitigation and adaptation actions.
As we launch the first training opportunity under the Proadapt Belize – Climate Resilient Training Program for the Construction Industry (Train the Trainers), we invite your team to take advantage of this opportunity by participating in this initiative free of cost. The training will be held virtually and will run from August 3rd to the 13th; please see the attached schedule and course outline. Sign up for this training by completing this registration form.
