Business Relief Effort for the Cayo District

-For Immediate Release-

On November 3rd, Hurricane Eta, a powerful and deadly category 4 hurricane, made landfall south of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua and moved its way northwestward into Honduras and thus affecting Belize. The Cayo district, has significantly been affected with major flooding and most recently NEMO has sent out a flood warning for the Belize district, especially the rural communities. Thousands of people have been misplaced from their homes, and are experiencing shortage in food, drinking water, clothing, and other essential items such as diapers.

The Cayo Chapter of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) through its representatives Mr. Lynn Grant and Ms. Debra Adamson, is working alongside the Cornerstone Foundation, a community aid development organization in San Ignacio Town and Santa Elena Town and with Camp Se Konsa, an NGO that works with special needs children in Belize, to pool together resources to assist with a relief effort for those in need.
