The Centre for Biosecurity Studies is pleased to launch its Quarterly Talk Series on Thursday, September 17th 2020 with the Director’s Inaugural Lecture entitled “Safeguarding Lives & Livelihoods: A Biosecurity Outlook on COVID-19 and Future Pandemics & Outbreaks”. This is a Zoom presentation commencing at 1:00pm (Barbados time). The attached flyer refers, and interested persons should contact the Centre for Biosecurity Studies to register (biosecurity@cavehill.uwi.edu). A Zoom link will be forwarded to you during the week of the lecture.

Our Quarterly Talks will be a series of lunchtime sessions, presented as individual lectures or panel discussions. We welcome expressions of interest from prospective Presenters from all Biosecurity-related fields, and in particular, from those experts and practitioners in the following Focal Areas:

  • Climate Change
  • Maritime Affairs
  • Green Energy
  • Narcotics Trafficking/Interdiction
  • Human Trafficking
  • Trade & Border Security
  • Cyber Crime and Security
  • Food Security

** Other focal areas may also be represented in the series.
